In an excruciating grip of fear, Lagos contractors have abandoned the construction of roads across the states due to the absence of any level of guarantee of being paid after the completion of the projects
Investigations carried out have lucidly limned that the inability of the Governor to secure a second term in the office is solely responsible the contractors’ uncertainty causing the far-flung unequivocal furor in the state
Information recently gathered has also revealed that the councils’ worse hit are Ojokoro, Ibeju-Lekki and Mopol in Eti-osa area, Alimisho, Isolo, Oshodi, Ejigbo, Surulere, Mushin, Ketu, Ojo, Bariga, Alaba without others like Iyana Ipaja, Agege, Abule-Egba, Ojodu, Ogba and Gbagada being exempted from the menace.
However, keen observations have showed that the entire state was a huge construction site as conceited efforts to put the roads in order were made before the All-Progressive Congress (APC) conducted her Gubernatorial primary election where the incumbent Governor lost to Jide Sanwoolu
More intricate has the situation been portrayed to be as information gotten also depicted that the construction of the 181 councils’ road spawned by the ambitious move of the state government was not disparate
The haphazard situation have therefore left affected motorists and residents in despair causing them to groan profusely without refrain
Notwithstanding, it can be recalled that the state commissioner for works and infrastructure, Mr. Ade Akinsanya had earlier mentioned that N5.563 billion was disbursed which was 30 percent of the total amount of N18.545 billion budgeted for the construction of the roads across the state.
