The presidential candidate of the leading opposition party, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general election Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has added his voice to the list of Nigerians condemning the assault allegations by Senator Elisha.
In a statement gotten from his twitter handle, the PDP presidential candidate condemned the senator’s action as inexcusable and that as a leader, he must leave by example. In his words,
“I’ve seen the alleged assault video involving Senator Elisha Abbo the video is sad inexcusable. I know the senator quite well. But the law is clear and leaders must lead by example’’
He further advised him to publicly apologize and advised the party to take disciplinary action.
“I advise him to publicly apologize, voluntarily go to the police and show a good example expected of a young leader I also call on our party, the @official PDPNig to take necessary disciplinary action and the police to ensure the law takes its full course” .
