Dr. Augustine Adeoye Arogundade visits Katangowa market to commiserate with traders


The executive chairman of Agbado/Okeodo LCDA, Dr. Augustine Adeoye Arogundade visits Katangowa market to commiserate with traders whose stalls were consumed by early morning inferno which destroyed wares worth over 10 million naira.

He promised to set a fact finding committee compromising of the LCDA officials and market leaders to ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak, and appealed to all traders to ensure all electric appliances are switched off when closing for the day.

 

Thereafter, Dr. Arogundade ordered Engineers from the Works & Infrastructure department of the LCDA to barricade the burnt portion of the market and promised to reconstruct it for the displayed traders to continue their trading activities. More so, the executive assured the affected traders that the LCDA will fashion out ways and means to assist those who lost their wares and properties to the fire outbreak in order to stabilise their businesses.

Meanwhile, the Iyaloja of Katangowa market blamed some of the traders for their carelessness in switching off electric appliances which was actually the cause of the inferno as a result of high voltages from PHCN when power was restored to the market earlier this morning.
