Ensure lasting solution to flooding, Saliu tasks contractor
The Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area, Hon. Adeniyi Saliu yesterday, inspected the ongoing construction of the collapsed culvert linking Iraye-Oke with Odo-Egiri and Odomola communities.
The culvert collapsed due to heavy flooding few weeks ago leaving the road became impassable for all the road users in the area.
Consequently, as a responsive government, the administration of Eredo Local Council Development Area led by Hon. Adeniyi Saliu, has approved the immediate construction of the Culvert and link drainages around the major culvert in addition to desilting and remodeling of blocked and dilapidated drainages around the axis to ease the movement of the people along the road and properly Chanel the path of erosion during the rains.
We recognise the economic importance of this road to communities like Iraye, Odomola and Odo-Egiri, and ultimately to the Council. That’s the more reason we have to be proactive by fixing it without any delay, Saliu stressed.
Saliu tasked the contractor handling the project, CP Tech. Construction Company Ltd, Engr. Smith to ensure a lasting solution to flooding in the area. He also urged residents and particularly the road users to be patient with the government and the contractor while the construction works last.
The Council Mayor, Hon. Adeniyi Saliu, the Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area, and his team also visited the ongoing construction of Ultramodern Market with Micro Finance Bank at Iraye-Oke Community.

Iraye is the most populated community in the Local Council. “As a government, we are committed to governance that will create enabling environment for partnership which we believe is fundamental to the economic growth of the Local Council and prosperity of the people.”
