The Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, on Wednesday said his office was ready to partner with media aides to Council Chairmen across the 57 local government areas and local council development areas in Lagos State.
He made this remark during Conference 57 Chief Press Secretaries courtesy visit to the Baguda Kaltho Press Centre, office of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s CPS.
Receiving the grassroot media aides, CPS Gboyega Akosile said it was important electorate in the grassroots feel the impact of Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“We shall explore possibilities of having CPS in the grassroots delivering Governor Sanwo-Olu’s welfare agenda to the masses across Lagos State,” he said.
According to the communication scientist, CPS in the grassroots must take advantage of their numerical strengths on various online social media platforms to project the THEMES of Mr. Bababjide Sanwo-Olu.
“You have the numerical strengths that can be used on various social media platforms to project the Governor’s activities in the grassroots,” he said. “Take advantage of it,” he added.
Earlier on, Chairman of Conference 57 CPS, Oseni Owolabi Ajimomuya from Shomolu LGA, commended the manner in which the grassroot media aides were received by the Governor’s CPS.
According to him, the Chief Press Secretary for Council Chairman has been projecting activities of the Lagos State Governor as it affects the electorate in various local governments and local council development areas, hence the need to solidify this partnership with Mr. Akoshile.
CPS Ajimomuya also disclosed that preparation were in top gear for Conference 57 CPS Media retreat and it would be an honour to have Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to deliver the keynote address.
He added that training is an integral part of the media aides scope in order to deliver efficiently, therefore would encourage the Lagos State Government to support their efforts in the aspect of training and retraining.
“Part of our skill set is to embark on various media training continuously and we would like the government to support us in this regard,” he added.
Reacting to the request, CPS Akosile posited that training is necessary for growth in the field of journalism. He encouraged the group to keep up with latest trend in news dissemination.
“You need to engage yourself continuously in training and retraining so as for you to get better,” he said.
