BREAKING: INEC declares APC candidate winner of Plateau south senatorial seat


Prof Nora Dabu’ut the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Plateau south senatorial by-election, has been declared winner.

According to the results announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Idris A Male, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Lafia, Nassarawa state, in Shendam, Prof Dabu’ut polled a total of 83,151 votes while George Daika, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, secured 70,838 votes.

With her victory, Prof Dabu’ut is the first female academician to be elected in the senate.

she defeated her opponent in 4 out of the six local government areas in the senatorial district. while the PDP candidate, Daika, won in 2 local Government Areas.
