Lagos bye-election: APC’s Abiru defeats Gbadamosi in Ikorodu


As the residents of Lagos East wait for the final results on who represents them at the senate, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Tokunbo Abiru winner of Lagos East senatorial bye-election in Ikorodu division.

Abiru is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Declaring the results, Andu Akala, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Local Government Collation Officer announced that Abiru polled 19,204 votes in all the 19 wards in Ikorodu.

Babatunde Gbadamosi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) got 3,766 votes.

The official also gave the figures for other political parties.

Action Democratic Party (ADP) – 167 votes, African Democratic Congress (ADC) – 107 votes, and African Action Congress (AAC) – 84 votes.
