The Eti-Osa Local Government of Lagos State, yesterday, Thursday, 10th December 2020, held its annual stakeholders’ participatory forum at the Eti-Osa Local Government Council Hall.
This year’s annual event also had the presentation of bye-laws by the members of the legislative house and the distribution of questionnaires to the members of the public.
During his keynote address, the Executive Chairman Hon. Saheed Bankole outlined his administration’s achievements despite the devastating effect of the COVID-19 pandemic which locked down the economy and the EndSARS protest which brought the state to its knees after hoodlums hijacked it, destroying lives and properties.
In his speech, Hon. Saheed listed the administration’s achievements on infrastructure, education, health, security and environment, with the highlights being the distribution of palliatives to all the communities in the local government during the pandemic and the road constructions which opened up economic activities in the areas affected.
On the 2021 budget, the chairman said he has acknowledged the challenges of most communities as he has personally visited the places with this year’s budget skewed towards the Lagos State’s THEMES agenda in transforming the state into a smart city.
Addressing journalist after the forum, Hon. Saheed urged parents to train their wards properly so as to have a better society. He also assured all stakeholders that more dividends of democracy would follow in the coming year.
On the #EndSARS issues, the chairman said his administration has met with the necessary stakeholders in order to forestall a repeat of earlier incidents. On his part, the Baale of Lafiagi gave kudos to the chairman for the level of progress in the local government, admonishing him to do more
