Nigerian singer Tems declared recently that she would not eat or drink in custody, following her arrest by the Ugandan police.
This was after she was arrested and placed in handcuffs alongside colleague, Omah Lay, for performing in the country.
The Ugandan police claimed they were arrested and have been charged to court for negligently getting involved in acts that could spread infectious diseases.
In a video shared by Sabiradio on Instagram, the singer and a woman who was trying to convince her to eat were sighted in an empty courtroom.
The woman stated that Tems needed to eat and could die from hunger and dehydration, to which the singer replied that it was her body and she could choose to die instead.
The devastated artiste also mentioned that she had not eaten for over 24 hours and would love to keep it that way.
Tems also explained that unless she was strapped to a chair and force-fed, she would not eat.
