The Lagos State government said on Tuesday that it had approved N9 billion for renovation and rehabilitation works in the state’s public primary and secondary schools.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Adebule, who disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Lagos, said that it was expected that students would resume into an enhanced learning environment in September.
“This administration is committed to providing a conducive learning environment in the state’s public schools.
“This is why Governor Akinwunmi Ambode approved the sum of N9 billion for the rehabilitation and renovation of our public schools.
“The renovation work will commence during this long holiday and our students are expected to resume into an enhanced learning and more conducive environment by next session,’’ Adebule said.
Adebule added that a programme tagged ‘Maintenance Gang’ would be inaugurated in August, to incorporate technical graduates who would render minor repairs and maintenance services in public schools.
