The Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council, Hon. Olufunmi Rafiu Olatunji on 2nd October, 2019 was recognized and awarded for his meritorious service in office by Citizens Right & Leadership Awareness Initiative.
The Coordinator of Citizens Right & Leadership Awareness Initiative, Amb. Oladipo Musibau while delivering his speech mentioned that the organization in collaboration with Oduduwa Watch News Online arrived at the decision to confer on the Council boss the Living Hero In Leadership and the Best Performing Chairman of the Year Award stemmed from sampling opinion and having thoroughly monitored his milestone achievement in the area of Road Infrastructure project, rehabilitation and renovation of Schools, Construction of New blocks of Classrooms, Effective Health Care delivery, Welfare and various Social intervention programs to mention but few of his achievements. He reiterated that the conferment of the award on the Council boss is designed not just to recognize his towering achievement but to also motivate him to do more.
Mr. Akinola G.O, the HOD Agric, Rural and Social Development remarked that the conferment of the award on Hon. Olufunmi is not surprising to him but rather a due testament of his performance within the two years in the saddle. He added that the feat was possible because of the cooperation, dedication and commitment to service by the entire staff, legislative and executive members of the Local Council. He seized the occasion to pledge, on behalf of the management staff, their unwavering support and cooperation in ensuring improved and effective service delivery to the benefit of the constituency.
Hon. Taiwo Olaleye Afinni, the Leader of Eti-Osa East Legislative House while giving the vote of thanks to the organizer for the gesture assured that the administration will not relent in rendering dividends of democracy but will do more in uplifting standards of living of the constituents through more infrastructural development and effective service delivery. He further reiterated that award of recognition that keeps pouring is the testament to the excellent performance of the Chairman. He hinted that just on the 1st of October, 2019 during the 10th year anniversary of Chief Murisiku Ojupon as Baale of Ajah Land, the Ajah Community Development Association presented a meritorious award to the Council boss for his commitment to community developmental effort.
The Chairman in his brief remark appreciated the organizer and further highlighted his achievements and activities within the period in the saddle and also mentioned some of the project in the pipeline which includes bursary award to students and more drainage and road projects. He therefore appealed for continued support of the residents of the Local Council especially in the area of adequate payment of rates and levies to ensure that the Council has fund to carry out its function.
