Ayo Makun’s ’30 Days in Atlanta’ Makes 2017 Guinness World Record


Nigerian stand up comedian and actor, Ayo Makun popularly knows as AY has been recognized by the 2017 Guinness World Record for his movie 30 Days in Atlanta.

The Guinness Book of World Records, is a reference book published annually, listing world records and national records, both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world.

This time around Ay’s movie 30 Days in Atlanta has been recognized as one of the films with the highest domestic gross in the territories of Bollywood, Nollywood and Hollywood, listed alongside “PK” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

The excited comedian took to his Instagram account to show off his new feat and thank his fan in this message:

“This is the first time ever that the Nigerian film industry which is one of the largest in the world, will be achieving such a tremendous success that will be registered by the ‘Guinness World Records’ since 1955 when it was first published.

“I am dedicating this milestone in my career to all the casts and crew of 30 Days In Atlanta. Also to everyone who went to the cinemas to see the movie when it came out.
Let’s do it again with my new movie ‘A Trip to Jamaica’ premiering on September 25th, and showing across cinemas in Nigeria from September 30th.”

The comedy movie grossed 76million Naira seven weeks after it’s premiere, went on to bring in a box-office total of over 137million Naira, making it the highest grossing movie in the Nigerian cinema history.

The comedian has scheduled Friday 30th September, 2016 for the release of another comedy flick titled ‘A trip to Jamaica’
