Lagosians advised to patronize registered surveyors

EKOCITY MAGAZINE —The Lagos State Surveyor General, Surveyor Olutomi Sangowawa, has advised the general public to always patronize registered surveyors, saying that there is need for them to consult with the State Survey Office before going ahead with any Land transaction in the State.

Mr. Sangowawa stated this while delivering a lecture with the theme: “Surveying and Land Registration Process in Lagos State” at the business luncheon organised by the Business Club Ikeja.

He said that the Lagos State Government has embarked on the upgrade of its Digital Mapping/ GIS Project for the establishment of a robust modern and highly technical digital mapping with central networks.

“The Digital Mapping/ GIS Project which is presently being upgraded will result into the provision of cloud storage, data infrastructure, migration to better and more versatile platform such as Google Technology and provision of additional Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS) to cover the whole State.”

He added that Lagos State also plan to purchase an advance drone for continuous data acquisition.

The Surveyor General, however, maintained that the decentralization of the Survey process and the establishment of 10 Zonal Survey offices across the State by the present administration were geared towards making the survey process seamless for all residents.
