The Local Government Chairman, Hon. Adeniran Onilude has stated repeatedly the government’s commitment towards making life better for indigenes and residents of Badagry Local Government through the provision of infrastructures that will spur economic development, social engagements and an environment suitable for businesses.
The Chairman made this known while carrying out inspection of projects ongoing across the council area, noting that the infrastructures upon completion would make transactions and learning a seamless activity for all.
He said that the fast growing Micro, Small and Medium businesses around the Badagry international park necessitated the development of the park, hence, construction of a temporary site for people currently inhabiting the park. The Chairman stated that as soon as work is done at the temporary relocation site, people transacting over at the roundabout park will be moved new site because work will start at the roundabout park imminently.
“You can see that we are putting up a solid building here despite the fact that it is a temporary site. This is because after the completion of the Roundabout International Park project, we will still keep this place.
“My dream is to make this area the major business district of Badagry Local Government where we can have malls, motor park, event centre, recreation park and so on not too far from ono another” Hon. Onilude said.
The Chairman during the inspection of the block of classrooms being constructed at L. A. Primary School, Keta-West, Gberefu Island said the block of classrooms should improve the interest in primary education for people living around the area tremendously. He seized the opportunity to highlight some areas he intends locating blocks of classrooms that includes Ajido and Yafin.
Another project visited by the Chairman during the inspection is the Multipurpose hall and customary court room at Topo Garage. The Chairman expressed joy at the speed of work and quality of materials being used for the construction. He noted that progress is steadily being made. He charged the contractor to keep to standard as regulated by the Lagos State Building Control Agencies.
