Lagos Assembly passes 88 Resolutions, eight Bills in one yr


The Lagos State House of Assembly passed 88 Resolutions and eight Bills into law in the beginning year of the current Assembly.

This was disclosed on Wednesday by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa. Obasa, who talked with senior journalists and members of Civil Society Organisations as part of activities commemorating the inaugural twelvemonth of the present Assembly, said one of the Bills passed into law — the Local Government Administration Amendment law, arrived as a private member bill sponsored by Obasa himself.

The seven other bills passed into law also originated as private member bills by seven members of the Assembly.

Hon. Obasa furher revealed that three other private member bills were awaiting second reading by the house, which has 31 committees.
