Develop healthy habits, Lagos HoS tell public servants


The Lagos State Head of Service, Olabowale Ademola, has charged public servants in the State to cultivate healthy living habits.

Ademola gave the charge on Tuesday in Lagos while fagging off the Health Screening exercise for public servants in the state in continuation of the activities commemorating the Y2016 Public Service Week Celebration in the State.

She stressed that it is only when the public servants are healthy that they would be able to discharge their duties and responsibilities well.

She said: “I enjoin you to take the issue of your health serious. You should eat well and exercise regularly. You should undertake tests for lungs, diabetes and cancers so that in order to detect them early enough. It is important. It is when you are healthy and fit that you would be able to devote yourself to your duties.”
The Head of Service pointed out that government is concerned about the health of its work force, hence the health screening was part of the activities lined up for this year’s Public Service Week Celebration.

Meanwhile, no fewer than 25 charitable organisations in the State are expected to benefits from the kindness and large heartedness of Public Servants in the State and well meaning people who donated various items, including bags of rice, bags of beans, various household items and noodles among other for the use of the organisations.

Ademola, who also inspected the items before their movement to the charitable organisations, commended those who donated freely and willingly towards the exercise, adding that God is always in love with a cheerful giver.

She noted that public servants in Lagos State decided to identify with the needy and less privileged while celebrating this year’s Public Service Week in order contribute their quota to the development of the Society. Items donated were valued at millions of naira.
