AAC slams APC led government, says they don’t deserve to celebrate independence anniversary.

As the country marks its 61st independence anni, the African Action Congress (AAC) has slammed the Buhari administration accusing it of lowering the standards of governance in Nigeria.

AAC, one of the opposition party in the country said the president has not made significant progress in fulfilling his campaign promises in fighting corruption, insecurity and improving the economy.

In a statement issued on Friday, Femi Adeyeye, spokesperson of ACC, said the APC-led government has no reason to celebrate the country’s 61st independence anniversary because it has not improved the living conditions of Nigerians.

The party also described Buhari’s anti-corruption fight as “insincere, incompetent and short-sighted”.

“On security, the regime has scored below zero. If the map of Nigeria was placed on a table now, the regime can not boast of 10 percent where it has control of and can assert sovereignty,” the statement reads.

“We now have a horrible situation whereby terrorists now do humanitarian works like NGOs, impose taxes on citizens and even declare a Governor for the people”

“The Buhari regime came in 2015 huffing and puffing about fighting corruption and mouthing slogans such as “if we don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.
