After so much wait and suspense, a Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has been elected as the presidential candidate of the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to fly it’s flag in the next general elections.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar clinched the ticket, after defeating a former senate president Bukola Saraki, Emmanuel Udom, Akwa Ibom governor; Nyesom Wike, Rivers governor; Ayo Fayose, former governor of Ekiti; Bala Mohammed, Bauch governor, among others.
The special national convention of the opposition party took place in the velodrome at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Before voting commenced, Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto governor, withdrew from the contest. throwing his wait behind the candidacy of Atiku.
