Ahead of the January 27 All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial primaries, one of the candidates, Opeyemi Bamidele, senator representing Ekiti central, has asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cancel the primary election.
The ruling party in the state is expected to pick its standardbearer on January 27 ahead of the June governorship election to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The request of the senator was made public in a statement, according to Bamidele, he alleged that those on the primary election committee are aides of Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti governor, who are working to ensure that Biodun Oyebanji, a governorship aspirant, gets the party’s ticket.
