Nigeria,s candidate vying for the position of the director general of the world trade organization (WTO )Ngozi okonjo- iweala has been endorsed by The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Her endorsement was contained in a document signed by Mahamadou Issoufou, ECOWAS president.
It would be recalled that On June 4, President Muhammadu Buhari approved the nomination of Okonjo-Iweala, former coordinating minister for the economy, for the top WTO job.
With her endorsement from the president, ECOWAS called on other African countries to back Okonjo-Iweala, who Issoufou referred to as a “fearless reformer”.
