DON’T BE A DREAMER-Pursue A Vision

The majority of the human folks are dreamers that are daily satisfied with candy thoughts of what could be. However, the truth is that dreamers never make it to the roll call of greatness. Don’t be a dreamer, rather pursue a vision for your life.

Everyone who left their footprint in this world once had a desire, dream, or idea. Whether they built a business, governed a country, started a movement, invented a cure or solution, they pursued their thoughts.

A dream is a magnificent visual or picture of your potential future which is just a wish. When you dream big, you start having fantasies of fame, riches, or power, filled with pictures of success and respect.

However, having just these pictures alone aborts your big dream because you are not worried much about reality. To birth a dream into the real world, you will face challenges, obstacles, or even outright resistance.

This is what separates dreamers from visionaries: they move a dream, a thought, an imagination, or fantasy to a reality that is sustainable.

A vision is also a conception of your mind about your future but it has substance: It is boosted by goals and intentionality.

Vision has more clarity than a dream, that is why it flies on the wings of goals. Goals ensure that you make the most of each day, it gives you focus, motivation, commitment, passion and leverages on consistency.

Let’s look at it this way when you call someone a dreamer, you rarely meant it as a compliment, or do you?  Rather, you meant someone who is not focused or who is unlikely to do anything of value, isn’t it?

On the other hand, when you call someone a visionary, however, it is an entirely different matter.

You see a visionary leader as someone ahead of their time, bold, adventurous and they lead a team of people in that direction.

Do you know that even if God appears to one and tells him of a great future, chances that he will still be poor and confused is 100 percent.

Take clear-cut responsibilities for that dream!

Douglas Adams summarized it thus:

“He was a dreamer, a thinker, a speculative philosopher… or, as his wife would have it, an idiot.”

I hope you know that pursuing vision is a continuous journey?

Do have a great week.
