Former Super Eagles’ skipper, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, officially unveiled his Foundation on Tuesday in Lagos.
The retired football star said the idea is aimed at assisting the budding talents in the country realize their dreams in the game.
He said, “I grew up from a poor family and my life changed through football.
“So, we have adopted football as a tool to get the players back to school because education is key to this idea.
“To this end, we have partnered I-Naira.com to auction some of the my kits in both the national team and the club sides.
“This we believe would encourage the upcoming stars to become top stars in the nearest future.
“Though, I’m not going to reveal the kits that would be displayed for auctioning now, but Nigerian will get to know those items in the coming days.”
The Austin Jay Jay Okocha Foundation has however sealed a contractual deal with I-Naira.com, which kick starts the auctioning process for the Foundation. Also at the ceremony were Austin Okocha’s brother, Emma Okocha; Super Eagles former goalkeeper, Peter Rufai; Austin Eguavoen; and Mutiu Adepoju.
