Following the attack by unknown Gunmen in Owerri in the early hours of the morning, one of the houses razed George Obiozor, president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, was set ablaze in the early hours of Saturday by yet to be identified gunmen.

In a video circulating online, Obiozor’s house and that of his brother can be seen going up in flames.

In recent times, several security breaches in Imo have led to the destruction of public properties and houses of prominent individuals in the state.

Confirming the unfortunate situation, James Njoku, a community source, who spoke to the Cable, said: “unidentified gunmen in the early hours of today burnt residence of Ohanaeze Ndigbo President, George Obiozor.

“This is happening barely four days after governor Hope Uzodinma claimed to have addressed Imo’s security challenges, the security situation in Imo state is getting out of hand.”

Aside the house of that Obiozor, Gunmen also set ablaze the Umuguma divisional police headquarters in Owerri west local LGA of Imo state.

According to a resident, the gunmen attacked the police station at about 3 am on Saturday, killing one person.
