Police apprehend five Kaduna ‘rail vandals’.

Five suspected rail vandals have been arrested in Kaduna state , the state police command said . They were arrested at Dalle Village of Jema’a LGA and two trucks loaded with locomotive railway sleeper were recovered from them.

Their arrests was announced by Mohammed Jalige, spokesperson to the Kaduna state police command, in a statement made available to news men

According to Jalige, their arrests was made possible following a reliable information on may 13

He said the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and effort is being intensified with a view to identifying all people involved in the destruction of critical national infrastructure.


The spokesman also clarified the video and pictures of a vandalised rail track circulating on social media platforms which was said to be the Abuja–Kaduna rail track.

“However, information available to the Command has it that the video and the pictures in circulation emanated from Enugu State where NSCDC Operatives of Enugu Command apprehended and equally paraded some rail track vandals. Hence, it shouldn’t be attributed to Kaduna – Abuja Rail track,” the statement read. Lastly, Jalige appealed to residents of the state and the general public to disregard the video in circulation linking the vandalism to the Kaduna rail track.
