Ligue 1

Ligue 1 is the top professional football (soccer) division in France, officially known as Ligue 1 Uber Eats for sponsorship reasons. It is organized by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) and includes 20 teams that compete annually for the national championship. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Ligue 2, the second tier of French football. Ligue 1 is known for its competitive nature and has produced numerous renowned clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Olympique de Marseille, and AS Monaco. The season typically runs from August to May, with each team playing 38 matches (home and away) against every other team. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. Ligue 1 is also an important part of European football, as the top teams qualify for continental competitions like the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
