Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) in England, consisting of 20 teams that compete annually from August to May. It is known for its high level of competition, global popularity, and significant financial power. Teams play each other twice, once at their home stadium and once away, for a total of 38 matches each season. The league operates a promotion and relegation system with the English Football League (EFL) Championship, meaning the lowest-performing teams are relegated to the lower division, while the highest-performing teams from the Championship are promoted to the Premier League. Established in 1992, the Premier League has become one of the most-watched sports leagues in the world, attracting international talent and large broadcasting deals. The league’s champion is determined by the team with the highest points at the end of the season, following a points system where teams earn three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a loss.
