LAGOS LIFTS EMBARGO ON PROCESSING OF PLANNING PERMIT IN SOME ACQUISITION AREAS



… Suspends Penal Fees For One Year

Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), has announced the lifting of the embargo on the processing of Planning Permit in some selected areas of the State.

In a release issued today by the General Manager of the Agency, Tpl. Funmi Osifuye disclosed that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the lifting of the embargo on the processing of Planning Permit in the areas recently released from Military acquisition in Badagry/Ajido, FAAN Acquisition in Isolo and LASU Acquisition and Isashi Waterworks Acquisition in Ojo.

Other areas include Ajah 300 hectares acquisition in Eti-Osa, Aboru, Agbelekale, Alagbado, AIT, Abule-Egba and Ikola in Agbado-Ipaja, Ojodu / Berger in Ikeja. The rest are Oke-Ira in Agege, Shasha in Alimosho, Satelite and FESTAC Town in Amuwo-Odofin as well as Chagouri and Chagouri Acquisition at Awoyaya in Ibeju-Lekki.

He said in order to encourage developers and landowners in the affected places to make submissions, accruable Penal Fees for construction prior to obtaining Planning Permit would be suspended for a period of one year with effect from 28th November 2019 to 27th November 2020.

Consequently, Osifuye urged the general public particularly Developers and Land Owners in the concerned areas to leverage on the gesture of the State Government by ensuring voluntary compliance and coming forward with their necessary documents for regularization to avoid any embarrassment from the State Government.
