Chairman of the National governors forum (NGF) and Ekiti state Governor, Kayode Fayemi on Tuesday took former Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Victor Giadom to Aso Rock Villa in a failed attempt to see President Muhammadu Buhari.
The visit, The Nation learnt, was to win Buhari over to Giadom, who has been laying claim to being acting national chairman of the party.
According to the nation newspaper ,It also gathered that Fayemi wanted Giadom to see Buhari to get endorsement for the emergency National Executive Council (NEC) he summoned.
But the duo couldn’t see Buhari despite spirited attempts.
The nation also confirmed that the duo only met his Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, who insisted Buhari had closed for work.
Fayemi, who is chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, is one of the anti-Oshiomhole’s forces in the ruling party.
