#EndSARS: Sowore disgraced as Abuja protesters prevent the AAC presidential candidate from addressing them

Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the last presidential election, Mr Omoyele Sowore was disgraced by Abuja Protesters demanding comprehensive police reform, on Thursday, when they prevented him from addressing them.

Mr Sowore, a self acclaimed activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, had arrived when the protesters were echoing their demands at the entrance of Nigeria’s National Assembly but was surprisingly asked to leave the premises

However, in a video seen by Ekocitymagazine it showed how Mr Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow Movement, being guarded from the reach of the protesters asking him to vacate the protest ground.

“Come dey go. Come dey go. We don’t want you here. Sowore we don’t want you here,” was repeated while he was seen hailing the protesters in return.

However, opinion were divided as some argued that Mr Sowore’s relentless approach to the #RevolutionNow movement helped prepare the ground for the #EndSARS protest, others held a contrary view.

It would be recalled that me Sowore is still standing trial for treason and felony and his movement restricted to only Abuja since his release on December 24 from the State Security Service (SSS) custody following the directive of the country’s attorney-general and minister of justice , in compliance with court orders and his bail conditions.
