In ensuring that flood becomes a story of the past for the residents of yemoja, sadiku, odumbakun, Aduke thomas, owolabi, Adedeji, adeogun, eyinogun streets etc .Oshodi-Isolo Local government has begun the carting away of refuse and other waste it removed from Apakun canal , the desilting exercise which commenced last week .
Men of Health and environmental department of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government were seen carting and ensuring the earth waste were removed from the desilted site as promised by the Local Government Chairman Hon.Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh during his visit to the ongoing desilting exercise last week that the waste would be carted away as soon as the exercise is completed.
Flood has been major nightmare to residents of over seven streets with population estimation of over two hundrend thousand, in the recent past several millions worth of property has been lost to flood caused majorly by blockages of free flow of the Apakun canal which act as link with other drainages with Isolo LCDA.
It was reported by the residents that it’s over 12 years ago the Canal has gotten the attention of the state government before the recent action of Hon.Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh Administration to bring smiles to the faces of the residents.
