GBENU ATTENDS NIN FLAG OFF WITH NIGERIAN AMBASSADOR TO BENIN REPUBLIC, OGUNTUWASE ; BEGINS ENROLLMENT OF NIGERIAN’S


– Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa, Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission was keynote speaker

The enrolment of Nigerian adults and children in Republic of Benin into the National Identity Database (NIDB) for the issuance of the National Identification Number (NIN) have commenced with the official flag off hosted by the Nigerian Ambassador to Republic of Benin, Ambassador Oguntuwase Emmanuel Kayode which was held on the 31st July 2019 at Cotonou.

At the event, The Executive Chairman of Badagry West, Hon Gbenu Henugbe Joseph who was invited as a Special Guest to the event being the closest Local Government in charge of the Nigeria-Benin border area was appreciated for his selflessness in maintaining peace and orderliness at the Nigeria-Benin Border. Gbenu was also commended for opening the Seme Int’l Motor Park.

The key note speaker, Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa, Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission encouraged Nigerians living in Benin Republic to key into the visited explaining that it is already in operation in some other part of the world like South Africa etc. Hon. Abike also visited one of the prisons in Cotonou to check on Nigerians in prison.

The flag off was attended by all security chiefs and Nigerians in diaspora. It is expected that other countries will come onboard.
