As part of an effort in ensuring that good health care delivery with functional facilities is not a mirage or out of reach to the people at the grassroots, the visionary cum purpose-driven administration of Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh upon assuming office has invested heavily in the public health care system of the local government in tandem with the axiom that health is wealth and a wealthy society is a healthy one.
His leadership impact on health sector encompasses the upgrading of all the primary health centres and also equipping them with state of the art facilities to enhance quick diagnosis and treatment as part of the drive for qualitative health care delivery.
In expanding access to public health delivery at the local level, the government has ensured that two health centres which are Ogunlana and Ajibulu PHC operate 24hours of uninterrupted services in order for people to enjoy free health service.
Increase in manpower such as Doctors, nurses an, others staff were employed at the health centres as part of the mechanism put in place by the Chairman which has helped tremendously in making the public health centre living up to expectation. It’s no surprise that the patronage of Oshodi public health centres has increased tremendously.
The Chairperson of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government amongst her numerous programs instituted the First baby of the year gifts for the first baby given birth to in the local government. Different free medical outreach have been organized with free check-up and diagnosis coupled with free drugs administered to the beneficiaries by Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh administration.
The administration also partnered with religious organizations, NGO’s and government establishments such as the university of Lagos, Faculty of Dental science for free dental services, Daystar international church and Red cross of Nigeria free health services for Oshodi-Isolo residents.
The Nigerian Airforce free medical outreach, the first of its kind in the history of Oshodi-Isolo local government facilitated by Hon.Idris Muse Ariyoh crystal clear vision and passion to deliver good and qualitative health services for all at the grassroots.
The Local Government Authority attitude to Polio and other cogent health exercise is worthy of commendation by the residents with positive testimonies from the people which have indeed increase access for children to enjoy these health packages.
The Council Authority is currently embarking on rehabilitation and upgrading of public health centre situated within the Local Government Secretariat for functional and qualitative health delivery with the purpose of expanding access to free and good health care service which is bid to commence operation immediately the ongoing renovation work is completed.
There is no doubt that premium placed on the public health centres at the grassroots had shown that the healthy living of the people of oshodi is not negotiable under this administration.
