WORLD AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSON AND ILLEGAL MIGRATION DAY


OSCEF pays courtesy visit to Oshodi-Isolo Local government Chairman.

Lauds the Local council authority on impacts made on child abuse and other anti social vices

Urges the grassroots government not to relents.

In commemoration of World against Trafficking in person and illegal migration ,the National Agency For The Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in collaboration with Civil- society organizations under which Out of School Children Empowerment Foundation is one, took to streets and cities of Lagos on 30th July, 2019 to create awareness on world against trafficking in persons which is a menace confronting third countries of the world.

According to the Director of the OSCEF , Mr Akeem Kelani during his courtesy visit to the council chairman who was unavoidably absent but well received by the Executive vice-chairman , Hon. Daisi Oso said the challenge of trafficking in person is increasing on daily basis due to poor enlightenment making many to be victims.

He said further that towards curtailing or reducing trafficking in persons, is why OSCEF joined forces with other civil society organizations to create awareness on the menace .

While delivering the goodwill message of the NAPTIP Director, Mr kelani said he was so glad that the role of Oshodi-Isolo local government in fighting the menace of trafficking in person, child abuse and labour hasn’t gone unnoticed.

The out of school children empowerment foundation Director Mr. Akeem Kelani , appreciated the Local Government Authority for their effective support and partnership which keep the organization running despite challenges has charged them not relent in giving attention to the vulnerable children under which trafficking, child abuse and labour can be reduced drastically.

Hon. Daisi Oso in his response appreciated the Organisation for their visit and assured them of continual collaboration through which a better society can be realized.

While admonishing Students of the University of Lagos , Department of Social works, who were attached to OSCEF on fieldwork to learn and take into cognisance many of the societal issues and emerging challenges that serve as a threat to the good of the society.

” I implore you to see what you are doing as part of the way sanity can be restored back to our society through which we can live together in joy and happiness.

” The administration of Hon.Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh will continue to ensure that the welfare of the vulnerable children remain a top priority of his administration while the issue of child abuse and labour will not be neglected, Hon. Osho said”.
